Your Wedding - What you need to do.

Marriage Celebrant

An Australian Marriage Celebrant must be authorised by the Commonwealth Attorney General's Department to conduct a wedding ceremony and manage all the necessary legal requirements.

NOIM

A Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged with your Authorized Marriage Celebrant no less than one month and one day prier to the day you intend to marry. Please see the Notice of Intended Marriage page.

Other Documents

To marry, you must be over the age of 18 years and not lawfully married to any other individual.

Documents of Verification

  • Birth Certificate (if Australian born, essential)
  • Passport
  • Divorce or Death Certificates, if you have been married before

These documents MUST be originals or Certified Copies - NOT photocopies

Witnesses
